What are Green Smoothies?Green Smoothies are fruit smoothies with greens. Green edible leaves should have their own food group, as the nutrition found in them is not the same level as any other vegetable. They are rich sources of protein, important vitamins such as C, K, A, E, and contain necessary minerals such as iron, manganese, magnesium, among many more. Cooking your greens makes them more palatable, but you lose at least 80% of the nutrition. Eating raw greens can be difficult both due to the sour/bitter taste, as well as the strong cell walls and our narrow, weak jaws and teeth. Blending greens enables our bodies to absorb all of the amazing nutrition that our jaws and teeth cannot, and we add fruit to overcome the less palatable taste of greens.
I have learned that Green Smoothies are one of the only things you can add into your diet, without taking anything else out or changing your diet in any other way, and still see remarkable health improvements in as little as a week. I always encourage people to begin any dietary change with Green Smoothies – they are easy, fast, inexpensive, and delicious. The better you feel, the more searching you will do toward health. This page is designed to provide you both with recipes to begin your own Green Smoothie Journey, as well as enough knowledge to take it from here and make it your own. Share Green Smoothies with your family, with your coworkers, with your friends, and begin a health revolution! DIY SmoothiesBeginners: 1 part greens + 3 parts fruit + 2 parts water
